As I finally finished this painting that has been dogging me since mid-Spring, I can shut the studio down and prepare for a month in Italy--Florence mostly, but also Rome and Siena. It is such good timing, as I feel as though the work is need of new forms, new shapes, new configurations. So I will draw and draw and draw, and collage and collage and collage, and look and look and look--taking in the newness of a foreign place with much relish!
